Repaired the Elk Park exclosure after tree damage, expanded the monitoring grid, and installed trail cameras and data loggers at both the exclosure and control sites.
Weather
🌤️ Low 70s, sunny, light breeze. Perfect field day conditions.
David, Eric, and I went out to our Elk Park site to repair the exclosure that was a built a few years ago. A couple trees fell across the fencing into and across the exclosure.
Site activities:
- Clear debris and remove downed trees from the exclosure
- Remove damaged cattle panels and extract existing fence posts
- Expand the existing monitoring grid to 10 m × 10 m and add road hairs
- Construct new exclosure using fence posts, intact cattle panels, and new materials
- Retrieve data from data loggers at the exclosure and control grid
- Install game cameras at both the exclosure and control grid
